Cairngorms Waterfall Abstract Painting

Cairngorms Waterfall Abstract Painting

Painted during 2014.

So I was on my stag party and we went canyoning with Active Outdoor Pursuits.

At the end, there is a bit where you need to abseil.

Basically at the end of the abseil, I fell a bit and cracked my elbow off the rock and was lying in a heap under the waterfall and got the inspiration then.

It turns out I dislodged a bit of bone which still floats in my elbow.

The time of year was June and it was painted using base layers of acrylic with some oil paint on the top as that gives a kind of translucent effect.

The location would be somewhere around the Falls of Truim.
